Country Pickin,..

While I always enjoyed the music from groups like the Allman Brothers Band, which was considered "country rock", it was never really much of a challenge to play, so it was just a novelty to me. Then in the last decade or so I became exposed to some really hot Nashville players who made my jaw drop.

The skills and techniques they flashed were off the charts and I was hooked, so I spent considerable time combing through Youtube videos, hunting these guys down and watching what they were doing. There was a whole range of string bending techniques that were completely alien to me and my fingers lol. Then I went back in time and started watching videos of the "old" guys like Chet Atkins. et al. I realized that guys like Chet were actually great jazz players also and a lot of their music had a "swing" feel to it. So the song "Just For Fun" is me, paying homage to all those players who got me so juiced up and made it fun to play (and learn) again.
